Welcome to "The Sequoia Seedling" blog site!
We are patiently awaiting the arrival of our little seedling. Her official due date is Dec. 19th but we know this date to be so arbitrary and would prefer to anticipate her arrival "any day" for we are on her time now. Until then, the new mama- and daddy-to-be are enjoying these last few days of alone time (we think we're on vacation!): playing Cribbage, renting movies, reading books, swimming at the YMCA, buying last-minute baby stuff, stuffing ourselves with chocolate and "just being" together. ~ When I begin to feel baby girl's desire to be released from within, these are the words that I will share with her as my tears fall:
These Last Few Hours
It is important to me that I spend a part of the next few hours here
alone with you in the darkness.
You and I will never be this close again. By morning you will be a
tiny person all your own. No longer the kicking, demanding bulge
in my body that I have grown to love so well.
I pray God will safely guide you on your Journey and, I ask him
for strength to help you all I can.
Again, you signal your impatience to be free.
Time to wake your Daddy!
