Small Discoveries

The Sequoia seedling has discovered that she has branches sprouting from her trunk. This is no small discovery! Her fingers and her hands. Her toes and her feet. They stretch; they touch; and they move; and she is in control of them. Even though daddy is the expert swaddler in the household, she is no longer comforted by his nightly swaddling of her.

Daddy has discovered the pleasures of caring for her during his night shift (10PM to 3AM). While mama sleeps (and intermittently feeds), Daddy bonds ("she asks for my companionship", he declares). They read novels, dance the waltz together, marvel at one anothers facial gestures. Mama woke last night at 2AM only to find daddy gazing into Sequoia's eyes as she lay sleeping between them. He says, "I can't stop staring at her. I've been observing her for the past 2 hours!" Mama does the same at the end of her morning shift (3AM to 8AM). She is surely the most complete manifestation of Love.

"Why do people prefer to believe in something far away and forget what is there before their eyes, a true manifestation of the miracle?"

"I had been like that once, until I allowed myself to be transported completely into the kingdom of mystery, where it was simply a matter of contemplating, celebrating, worshiping, praising, and allowing the gift to manifest itself."
